Cornus kousa 'Scarlet Fire' - Scarlet Fire Dogwood

This hybrid was developed at Rutgers university and is resistant to most dogwood diseases and pests. Scarlet Fire has a rounded form with green leaves and striking large scarlet pink blooms lasting up to eight weeks (May to June). It produces 1” red fruit by seasons end. Fall leaf color is a deep burgundy red. Plant in acidic well-drained soils with adequate moisture. Keep watered during dry weather for best results. One of the most dramatic dogwoods available.
