Ilex opaca ‘Dan Fenton’ is an American Holly hybrid developed in the 1960’s at Rutgers University by Elwin Orton. The plant has deep dark glossy evergreen foliage with bright red berries in the Fall which can hold on throughout the winter attracting a number of birds. It is broadly pyramidal and can be used as a specimen or as a privacy screen. Grow in full sun to part shade in well drained soil. This deer resistant female holly requires a male for production of berries.
