Crimson Queen Japanese Maple is a broad low branching, weeping Japanese maple with deep red highly serrated foliage when grown in sun with a growth rate of 12-24” per year. Spring growth is brilliant red deepening to a deep red in early summer. The red coloration holds well into late summer. In areas of intense sun, some protection from late afternoon sun is advised. In shadier locations, the colors become more reddish green. Fall colors are crimson red. Prefers moist well-drained acidic to neutral fertile soil.
