Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Chirimen' - Chirimen Hinoki Cypress

Chirimen Hinoki Cypress is an emerald green to blue green upright evergreen shrub. Its stems consist of highly congested tightly bunched foliage resembling the traditional Japanese crepe fabric (chirimen). This slow growing dwarf evergreen provides a unique architectural and textural form due to twisted stems and congested foliage. Once established it becomes a low maintenance plant thriving in well-draining soils in full sun to part shade. Excellent for rock gardens, container plantings and Asian themed gardens. Deer resistant.
