Dwarf Globe Japanese Cedar - Cryptomeria japonica ‘Globosa Nana’
Z5
6’H x 6’W
Full Sun to Part Shade
This unique evergreen features tight soft green awl-shaped needles and a rounded form. It is slow growing with about 2 to 3 inches of growth per year. In winter, the foliage turns a deeper green-bronze color. Due to it’s slow growth habit, this cedar can be pruned and kept to a much smaller size or left without any pruning to develop into it’s full size. It prefers moist well-drained slightly acidic soil but adapts to clay or sand. It is generally disease resistant and also deer resistant. It makes a beautiful statement in the summer, with it’s newer lighter green foliage on top of it’s darker previous year’s growth, as well as in winter when it’s foliage turns a deeper bronze-green.
